The academy was established in 2010 by husband and wife team Kerry Carlton-Senior and Curtis Senior. As professional performers and qualified teachers they received numerous requests from parents for tuition, originally tutoring from their home studios. The business gradually expanded and moved into town centre premises where it has continued to grow and develop. Both Kerry and Curtis continue to teach at the academy but now combine lessons with examiner roles and ongoing highly successful performance careers.

Alongside the duo are a team of inspiring and dedicated professional staff, who are all themselves performers of the highest calibre. All staff have a minimum of a BA(Hons) degree, teaching qualification and a Grade 8 in their specialist field. This means that all parents can be confident that they will receive training in a safe environment and with qualified, knowledgeable and experienced teachers.
